Although I am a fitness enthusiast, at times, I really do NOT feel like working out, even though I should. After a long day at the office, coming back and relaxing watching TV or surfing the internet sounds a LOT of fun to me than slaving away in the crowded gym.

So, how do you stay motivate to exercise and get in shape after a long and tiring day at work to if you HATE the thought of exercising or NOT a fitness enthusiasts like others?

If you think, Well, I should at least hit exercise 3 days a week,? but lack motivation to exercise, try these 5 simple strategies to make exercise a habit so that you can get ripped quickly.

1. Bring your gear at the gym

The evening before you go to work, get a gym bag and put all the clothes you require and bring it along to your work ( or simply put everything your require in your briefcase).

By simply bringing your workout clothes to work, you tell your subconscious mind to be prepared for the exercise later in the day.

So when you return back to home, do NOT be tempted to sit on the couch and watch TV, and if you do, the game’s over.

On the other hand, if the gym is in your home or in a building avoid the tendency to sit down before you workout. As soon as you arrive home, change the uniform, and then go for the exercise. Make this a new habit.

2. Create a Workout Schedule

Oftentimes, I log my workout routines on my calendar as if it’s a business meeting. By simply putting them down on my calendar, I am subconsciously thinking about them and preparing them in advance. This habit makes working out a priority.

For those who lack structure in their life, this could be a BIG help. For best results, try hitting they gym the same time and the same days to make exercising a habit.

3. Get a Gym Buddy or Take a Class at your Gym

When you’re working out alone, you have to rely on that in-built motivation of yours, but exercising with a bunch of people will keep you motivated to exercise and push much HARDER.

So if you’re a member at the gym, try to check out few classes such as full body strength training, or kickboxing if they’re offered.

Alternatively, find a gym partner who may be your friend, co-worker, or your spouse as your workout buddy. Peer support can be very powerful tool for motivation to exercise.

4. Make a Rule and Stick to It

Your body was built to move around, not just sit behind your desk and stare at the computer screen all day. If you’re a professional in your field, sitting on a couch wasting away time doing nothing won’t get you anywhere.

So I always follow my crazy rule no matter what happens in my life I will hit the gym and workout at least 3 times a week for an hour, no matter what. This way, I don’t find excuses like I am going to try’ to workout, or I should’ workout. Instead, I will be thinking like I have’ to workout to get that ripped beach body look!

5. Reward Yourself

Maybe it’s a live football match, or buying a new pair of t-shirts, or getting a relaxing massage, or other small things, reward yourself for taking time to workout every week so that you keep motivated to exercise.

Of course you may reward yourself even if you don’t exercise, but it feels much GRANDER, much MORE deserved after a great workout.
