Two Heads Are Better Than One

Motivation is so much easier to find if there’s more than one of you in the same boat. If you try to go it alone and feel like you are starting to wain then there will be no one there to support you and spur you on. If you would like to lose weight then find a gym buddy who can help you to stick to your sessions, if you’re struggling at work then speak to your boss or a co-worker and see if they have any motivation for you. The more people you get involved the more you can keep each other going through the tough times.

Visualise The Finished Product

Whatever it is that you want to get yourself motivated for; it is important to try and visualise the you’ that has reached your goal. If you want to lose weight then keep thinking about a skinny you’ and all the good things that will come from the change you are making, and if your goal is to get that promotion at work then visualise yourself in your shiny new office and think about how wonderful it will be when you finally get that pay rise.

This is a technique that athletes regularly use to help them succeed in their sport. They picture themselves crossing the finishing line or scoring a goal and it makes it much easier to achieve it in reality.

Remove Negative Feelings

One thing that is sure to stop you from being motivated is negative feelings about yourself or the actions you have to complete to get where you want to be. You may feel that you are not good enough to get a promotion at work or that you are just one of these people that is always going to be overweight, but you don’t have to feel like that. These emotions are holding you back and so it is important to address them and remove them where possible.

Something which can help with this is NLP or neurolinguistic programming. The techniques taught on NLP courses will help you work past your negative feelings and no longer see them as road blocks. You will also learn how to set the right kinds of goals and how to achieve them where you have failed before. Experiment To Find Your Inspiration

A great way to get yourself motivated is to find out what it is that inspires you and then seek it out every time you feel a little bit down. It may be that shopping for clothes motivates you to lose weight so that you can fit into that dress you have been admiring, or it could be that reading a certain genre of book makes you want to go out and be creative.

Whatever it is that makes you feel inspired it’s important to capture that and learn when you need to use it. By trying out different things you will eventually discover what it is that really drives you and success will be a lot easier to come by.
