1. Eat Fresh, locally grown produce or even start your own garden
Summer time is BBQ season; people are constantly inviting friends and family over to have a nice meal outdoors. When you either attend a BBQ this summer or throw one, show off your healthy habits by sharing organic produce such as an organic salad or hamburger toppings that you brought directly from your garden. After all, what’s the point of eating a vegetable that is filled with pesticides and other harmful chemicals? Yuck.

2. Workout Outside
Instead of hitting the gym during the summer months, try to incorporate the outdoors into your workout routine. If you live in a warmer part of the country where the days are too hot to even walk outside let alone workout in, try moving your workout to early morning or late evening when the sun is low and the temperatures are cool. Working out outside, is also a great way to show off your hobbies; try waterskiing, hiking, rock climbing, or golfing this year. Who knows, maybe you will find your new favorite sport?!

3. Smile
Nothing shows off your healthy habits quite like a glowing smile. If you don’t already have good dental hygiene habits, now is the time to get your teeth whitened, brushed, and ready to shine! No longer are the days of having to go to the dentist to get your teeth whitened, you can get either whitening toothpaste or whitening strips from the drugstore or pharmacy.

4. Show Some Skin
Summertime is the perfect opportunity to show some skin, covered in sunscreen that is! Even if you just plan to go on a walk during the day, you should wear some sort of SPF sunscreen on your face and arms. If your family has a history of skin cancer, be sure to have all of your moles checked every year by your dermatologist. Wear sunscreen, show off toned muscles, and get some vitamin D to create a healthy glow.

5. Stay Hydrated
During the hot summer months most people spend the majority of their free time outside; either doing some sort of physical activity or just lounging around. No matter, what you are doing this summer be sure to stay hydrated. Yes, you can have your occasional soda or tea but the majority of your liquid intake should be water. So get in the habit of carrying around a water bottle with you; it’s free, doesn’t contain calories, and is the best thing for your body.
