Maybe you also notice that you have age spots or even blotchy discolored spots on your skin that you want to even out. If you do, you may have tried skin lightening creams but noticed that they do not work. There is a better way to get the skin you have always wanted. This method is a newer treatment known as crystal microdermabrasion. Crystal microdermabrasion will allow you to get rid of those dead skin cells that are making your skin less than perfect. Here is what you should know about this treatment before you decide to go for it.

What It Is Microdermabrasion

Crystal microdermabrasion is very similar to regular microdermabrasion. This method of microdermabrasion became popular in the United States after coming here from Europe back in the 1980’s. During crystal microdermabrasion, a wand is used to spray crystals across your face. You will then have the wand tool used to swipe those crystals across your face, removing the dead skin cells. Be aware that the wand may be swiped at least two or three times to remove those tough skin cells. After the dead skin cells are removed, the same wand tool will vacuum them up. You will want to take it easy after a microdermabrasion treatment and be sure to use sunblock. Additionally, you will need to return in  a few weeks for your next treatment.

What to Expect from Your Appointment

When you go to your first microdermabrasion appointment, a licensed esthetician will take a good look at your skin and let you know how many treatment sessions that you will need. Most people, on average, will need between six and ten microdermabrasion treatments to achieve their desired results. After your look over, your esthetician will start your first treatment. It should be fairly pain free but there is always a chance that you may experience minor discomfort. Your session may range from 15 minutes to one hour. When you’re finished, be easy on your skin and protect it from the sun. You will schedule your next appointment and be set to go.

Crystal microdermabrasion is good for your skin and can be a great way for you to get rid of all the blemishes that you despise so much. It can also allow your skin to look years younger within just a few months. Give crystal microdermabrasion a try and see the amazing results for yourself.
