23207887340 causes of fatigue mum baby Top Tips For New Mums Dealing With FatigueOne of the first things that every new mum notices, besides the sheer bliss and love she feels for her new baby, is the fact that she is completely and utterly exhausted just keeping up with the newborn. Babies are a lot of work, especially at the very beginning when you first bring your newborn home.

New mums have to learn how to cope with all of the sudden changes that are occurring in their lives, including a change in schedule and the need to get up multiple times in the middle of the night to check on a crying baby and feed him or change him. And then the new mum needs to wake up early again in the morning to do it all over again. Therefore, it is no surprise that new mums become extremely tired right away and need a little bit of help in order to deal with the new fatigue.

Nap Whenever You Get the Chance

As a new mum, you are a long way off from a deep, restful good night’s sleep, but you should make sure to nap as often as possible to rejuvenate your body and stay refreshed enough to focus on your baby and all of the chores that need to be completed as well around the house. Whenever you put your baby down to sleep, take a nap with her. Or whenever you have a grandparent or your husband take over the baby responsibilities for a while, use that time to sleep as well. If you are feeling tired, nothing will get done, so you need to be sure to recharge your batteries so that you can actually stay on top of things.

Remember to Take Care of Yourself

Don’t be afraid to ask other family members or friends to help you take care of your baby if you need a short break for, say, a half hour or an hour out of the day. This will give you the opportunity to take a walk and get some fresh air, take a nice long and relaxing bath, or even run out to get your hair done. As a new mum, you probably think more about your baby than you do about yourself, but you need to remember that you need to pamper yourself every now and then as well. Doing so will help rejuvenate you.

Connect with Other New Mums

If your friends have had babies or you are able to connect with other new mums in your community, take advantage of the fact that you can ask questions, discuss troubles you’ve been facing, and just get the sense that you are certainly not alone in your struggles as a new mum. Even reading forums on the Internet or magazine articles can help you realise that the problems you are encountering are completely normal. As a result, you will feel less stressed and less alone, and you can also get valuable answers to all of your questions about baby care.
