Some with paid days off may force a cough to make an impression on our boss. Otherwise, it is one of those trade-offs that comes with being a grown-up.

Whether it was the kids that kept you up all night or you just had too good a time at that party, you have a choice to make when the alarm rings. Make an excuse and go back to sleep or face the world. The latter is rarely easy but here are some ways that you can use time wisely so that you don’t look like you have been up all night.

Acne coverage –

Instead of going through an entire routine of applying astringent or other drying product, along with concealer and foundation, go with a good concealer and finishing powder only. By applying concealer only on affected areas, let sit for about five minutes and blend lightly into skin. Use a dusting or finishing powder that matches your skin tone. Apply clear lip gloss and that will give you a quick bit of flawlessness that will last until your first break.

Dirty Hair-

If you do not have enough time to wash your hair, there are many dry shampoo products for different types of hair or you can make your own. Another old-school method would be to use cheese cloth. Using a clean brush, fold about a foot of cheese cloth in quarters and push into the bottom of the brush. By brushing hair thoroughly, it will remove excess oil and dirt in minutes. Dispose of the cloth once hair has been cleaned.

Scaly or peeling heels –

This is your week to visit the manicurist but you had to work overtime or your child had a performance that cut into your “me” time. It is much too hot to wear closed in shoes and wearing hose would only cause an embarrassing damage.

Immediately after bathing, take a clean emery board or one of your nails and scrape away the excess skin on heels. Place heel “jam” inside a paper towel and dispose right away. Follow with a thin layer of pure oil like coconut or premium oil blend that will be absorbed and not make the insides of your shoes greasy.

Unruly hair-

The fastest ‘do is to use a generous amount of styling gel or mousse and place into a ponytail or bun. A hair extension is great when growing out of a short style into a longer one as this is when hair “don’ts” are most likely to occur. Have one handy that looks natural and does not require a lot of maintenance.

Finally, if you don’t sweat much and don’t have time to take a shower, disposable body wash cloths can save you a lot of time. These are also great for those who don’t want to go out in the cold air with their pores open.

Using one or two of these methods can make a big difference when it comes to beating traffic or just staying in the good graces of your boss.
