The winter can be harsh on your body. Holidays such as Christmas and New Year tempt us into eating large quantities of fatty and sugary foods for a considerable amount of time whilst the alcohol is also flowing. Cold winter days and nights prompt us to drink coffee and hot chocolates as a way of warming ourselves up whilst we see the odd cake or other snack here or there as a welcome diversion from the day. Equally we tend to take less care of our bodies during the autumn and winter months, moisturising less and working out less. As a result by the time the spring rolls in our bodies are in a bit of a state. In this article we take a look at how to get beach beautiful bodies in time for the summer.
Healthy Eating
The first thing to do when contemplating the daunting task of getting back into shape is to remove toxins from the body. This is really easy to do without the need for all those cabbage based detox diets. Simply increase the amount of water you drink significantly. The recommended about of water you should consume daily is around two litres. The water acts as a natural way of detoxing the body, flushing everything through your system more quickly. Once you have naturally detoxed, alter your diet to incorporate more healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables and white meats which are typically less fatty. It’s a fact that more colourful foods such as broccoli, carrots and oranges are better for you so more techni-coloured meals are a must striving to eat at least five portions of fresh or frozen fruit and veg a day. Try to limit your intake of carbohydrates, starchy foods and those containing sugars as these will have the most impact on your weight. Eating healthily is all about achieving the right balance for your body.
Exercise
Exercise has an important part to play in the weight loss game but it’s important to remember that you’re not just trying to shed those extra pounds but also trying to tone your muscles for a better physique and also getting into better shape overall. You need to integrate exercise into your lifestyle and make it part of what you do instead of a chore the goal is to enjoy exercising. When thinking about exercise in relation to weight loss, it doesn’t really matter what exercise you do as long as the calories you are burning are greater than the calories you are consuming through your diet.
Skincare
A lot of the hard work of getting your skin ready for the coming season will have been done through your diet. By increasing your water intake, you will automatically be hydrating your body and therefore your skin. However a little extra TLC won’t do any harm so invest in a good quality moisturiser. Try to find one which contains antioxidants as these will help protect your skin from free radicals which can cause skin to look dull and lifeless. If your moisturiser is going on a part of your body that is often exposed to the sun, such as your face, neck and hands then make sure it’s not some UV protection built in too as UVA and UVB rays from the sun are one of the most common causes of premature aging.
A Helping Hand
You may feel that you have left it too late to get the perfect body through healthy eating and exercise in time for the summer. However there are a number of products available which can help you out such as diet drops which allow you to lose more weight than you could naturally over a short period of time. Although diet drops and diet tablets have had some bad press in recent years, there are now a few which offer a safe, more natural way to lose weight quickly, especially in combination with exercise and a healthy diet.
