From hair spas to nail treatments to teeth whitening, you’ll want to make sure that you look your best on your wedding day. Whether you are about to take your vows in a few months or a few weeks, make sure you are picture perfect ready. Try these tips to help you look your finest on one of the most important days of your life.
Get your diet right.
Do not make the mistake of using a crash diet to trim off a few more inches off your waist or stomach area. A sudden and severe decrease in your calorie intake triggers your body to protect itself, thinking that it is starving. As a result, it will attempt to store more calories, making it even more difficult for you to lose excess weight. Try to stick to healthy meal choices in controlled servings to keep your metabolism going. As long as you’re active and your body is getting fed (albeit at lower calories), you will get the nutrients you need and still be able to trim off a few inches.
Get your skin ready.
There are two ways to make your skin picture-perfect for your wedding: keeping it healthy from the inside and on the outside. Drink more water; water hydrates the cells and keeps your skin looking moist. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables that contain high amounts of antioxidants and monounsaturated fats, such as apples, pomegranates, avocados and carrots. For healthier hair, skin and nails, munch on almonds and Brazil nuts.
Get physical.
You can do a good toning and firming workout even without stepping inside a gym. If you have a treadmill, a stationary bike or an elliptical machine sitting in your closet collecting dust, it’s time to get it out and use it. Do cardio daily for about 30 minutes and alternate that with strength training. Cardio workouts help you increase your stamina and burn calories while strength training gets you toned and firm.
Go see a professional.
Some treatments are just better when a professional is doing them, so don’t be shy. It’s time to share a few moments with a hair specialist, an esthetician or a nail technician. A professional treatment can do wonders for your hair, nails and skin and even help you get rid of issues such as pimples, dry hair and brittle nails.
Don’t forget your teeth.
A happy occasion deserves a radiant smile and as the bride or groom, you will be doing a lot of smiling on your special day. If your pearly whites are less than stellar, ask your dentist for a teeth whitening procedure that fits your needs. Teeth whitening treatments are fairly common and can range from simple DIY treatments to professional laser-assisted procedures.
