Swimsuit season is right around the corner, so you need to know the best ways to get in shape by summer. You want to have a toned body that you can show off, so you have some work to do. Fortunately, there are some quick ways you can get in shape by summer.
Change Up Your Routine
If you do the same exercises day in and day out, your body will get bored and it will actually stop burning as many calories. It will find a way to complete the exercises in an efficient way. That means it won’t work you out as hard, so you won’t lose as much weight.
With that in mind, be sure to mix up your routine every day. Ride a bike one day and jog the next, or lift some weights. Keep your muscles guessing so they won’t get bored. Then, you can burn the most calories possible. On top of that, you will be more interested and engaged in the exercises, so you will likely work harder. Thus, you’ll get two benefits by mixing your exercises up.
Keep Your Heart Rate Up
If you are able to carry on a conversion when you’re working out, you’re not burning the maximum number of calories. You need to get your heart rate up so you can burn lots of fat. That way, you’ll look good in your swimsuit this summer.
You want to train in the fitness zone or the aerobic zone. The fitness zone is 60-70% of your maximum heart rate. The aerobic zone is 70-80% of your maximum heart rate. Both of these zones will let you burn a lot of calories.
If you aren’t sure what your maximum heart rate is, you can do a little math. If you are a man, subtract your age from 220. If you’re a woman, you will need to subtract your age from 226. Then, you will know your maximum heart rate.
Keep a Food Diary
If you want to lose weight by the summer, you need to keep track of what you are eating. A lot of people don’t realize how much food they take in on a daily basis. They might grab some crackers on the way out the door without thinking about it, or eat their third apple of the day without giving it any thought. Write down everything that you put in your mouth so you will know how many calories you are really taking in each day. You might be surprised.
Eat Small Meals
You need to stay fueled throughout the day. You also want to keep your metabolism going. The best way to do that is to eat several small meals each day. Keep the meals between 200 and 300 calories each, and make sure they are filled with health foods. Avoid processed foods if possible, since they have a lot of sodium that will make it harder for you to reach your weight loss goals.
These are the best way so get in shape by summer. If you follow them, you can have a lean body to show off at the beach this summer.
