When most people want to eat a snack they will reach for a candy bar instead of a bag of chips. While these might satisfy a craving, they aren’t exactly good for you. On top of being processed, these foods are also high in sugars and saturated fats. If you want to slim down and eat something good for your body, then there are snacks you can enjoy that are under 50 calories. By eating more of these you will find that it’s easier to lose weight and you will feel more satisfied than you do with junk foods.

1. Grapes

14 grapes are under 50 calories and they will soothe your sweet tooth! You can even freeze these if you want to enjoy something cold and crunchy. If you want to add even more flavor, then dip these in low-fat yogurt before you freeze them, but make sure to account for the calories from the yogurt.

2. Vegetable Juice

If you need something quick, then vegetable juice is a great snack. Six ounces of this is generally only 40 calories, but make sure you get a product that is natural and made without added sugars or salt. If you can, try and make your own with a juicer.

3. Rice Cake

One brown rice cake is normally 40 calories or less and will fill you up quickly. You can add some sugar-free jelly to this if you want some sweetness; otherwise it tastes great on its own. There are a variety of rice cake flavors, but make sure to look at calorie counts before you purchase them.

4. Egg Whites

Hard-boiled egg whites taste great with hot sauce and will help get rid of cravings as well. Two of these are under 40 calories, so you can eat a pickle with it if you want something else. Make these at the beginning of the week and you will have them to grab whenever you want a quick snack

5. Sugar-Free Fudge Pops

One of these is generally less than 40 calories and it will get rid of any sugary cravings that you have. Just make sure you read the nutritional information on the label to make sure you aren’t eating something that will break your calorie limit. There are also fruit pops without sugar in them if you don’t want chocolate.

6. Popcorn

Popcorn only has around 25 calories per cup, although this does depend on which brand you purchase. You can also pop your own so you can enjoy the snack without any added ingredients, like butter or oils. Avoid putting salt or butter on this, as that will only add more calories and fat.

7. Cucumbers and Tomatoes with Balsamic Vinegar

Balsamic vinegar poured on top of sliced cucumbers and tomatoes will fill you up with fiber as well as vitamins and nutrients. You can skip the vinegar if you want, and add garlic powder or pepper to add in some more flavor. There are a lot of ways you can make this taste great without adding a lot of calories, so explore which you like the best.
