Lose Weight Fast – Are you tired of trying out new diets and then plateauing after a couple weeks, never reaching your goal? Do you wish there was some surefire way you could lose the weight you’ve been trying to lose for years? Well, there is, and you don’t have to radically adjust your lifestyle to make it work.
Losing weight can be easy, if you know the right tricks. Listed below are 11 different ways you can adjust your lifestyle, and all of them lead to weight loss.
11 Ways to Lose Weight Fast and Keep the Weight Off
Eat a Filling Breakfast
Many people choose to skip breakfast, opting instead for a large lunch or dinner. If you are one of those people, stop. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s the first meal you eat, and it provides you with the energy you need throughout the day. So don’t shirk on your responsibilities to give your body those nutrients!
Breakfast doesn’t have to be a big affair. It can be something as simple as a piece of toast, slathered in some organic peanut butter. Make it healthy and filling, and don’t go overboard on calories. You want to shoot somewhere in the 300-calorie range. With this kind of a breakfast, your body will feel full, and you’ll be less likely to snack throughout the day.
Cut the Fast Food
If you have a habit of eating out, cut back on it. I’m not saying stop eating out altogether. Cut it down to once or twice every two weeks (depending on how frequently you eat out currently). Fast food is notoriously high in fat, and by reducing how often you eat those fatty meals, your body’s calorie intake will be lower.
Replace those fast food meals with something home-cooked. If you have a habit of getting fast food during your lunch break because you don’t have time to drive home, bring your lunch to work. Use the weekend to cook a few meals for you to take to work for lunch. It’ll be a lot better for your body, and as an added bonus, you’ll also be saving money—it costs a lot less to make your own lunch than it does to buy fast food.
Start Running
Exercise is important when trying to lose weight. However, if you’re not already an active person, making the choice to exercise daily or even just 3-4 times per week can seem daunting. Luckily, you don’t need to exercise every day for an hour or more to get results.
Twenty or 30 minutes will suffice to get your body in better shape. If you can do more, great. But if you don’t have time, or you don’t want to overwork your body, start with just 20 minutes. This is a more manageable chunk of time that you can even squeeze in to your lunch break or after dinner run.
Try a Fitness Class
Zumba or yoga are my personal favorites—particularly because you can do them at home.Zumba helps your weight lose because it gets you moving around a lot more, but yoga takes a more meditative approach. You’ll find yourself more in tune with your body and when you’re hungry. You’ll also know when you’re full, so you don’t eat too much, which is a problem a lot of people have—they think they need to clear the plate and end up eating a lot more than their body needs. If you find yourself doing this, yoga can help you.
Multitask While Watching TV
Most people spend a lot of time in front of the TV, or their computers, catching up in their favorite TV shows. There’s nothing wrong with that, but start doing something else while you’re watching TV.
Instead of snacking on junk food (like a many people, including myself, do), do a few stretches during the commercial breaks. Come up with a quick fitness regimen, with some jumping jacks and pushups or sit-ups. This will give you something to do while the infomercials and advertisements are blaring across the screen. You’re not watching TV for those. You want the show, so do something else useful during the breaks or while the show is buffering.
Eat More Veggies
We’ve heard it since we were children: eat your veggies. It’s true. Veggies are good for you. Unfortunately, most people still fail to eat enough of them. Eating vegetables improves weight loss efforts, because they fill you up faster (and longer) than many other foods, reducing the need to eat more.
But don’t worry: you don’t have to become a vegetarian to reap the benefits of vegetables. Next time you want pizza, just pile it with veggies—you’ll satiate your craving and get a healthy serving of vegetables.
Drink Water it can help you lose weight fast
Did you know you’re supposed to drink 64 oz. of water each day? Water is great, because it flushes your system of all sorts of toxins. And if you drink a glass before each meal, it can help you lose weight because it makes youfeel full, curbing your appetite.
Portion Your Meals
Monitor your eating habits and needs and then portion your meals accordingly. Many people overeat simply because they want to clear their plates. Plan ahead, and portion your meals so clearing your plate doesn’t mean you’re overeating.
If you are eating out, listen to your body and stop when you begin to feel satisfied. Then bag the rest for tomorrow’s leftovers. If you’re at a fast food place, don’t super-size it. In fact, avoid fast food in general.
Get Rid of the Junk Food in Your House
This one is simple. Clear out your house of all the junk food, whether it’s salty, sweet, or fatty. If it’s not remotely healthy, throw it out. You don’t need it. Get it out of your house, so when those cravings come upon you, you don’t run to your junk food stash you hid behind the rice cooker. If you have nothing in your house, that should deter you long enough to overcome your craving.
Skip those Aisles at the Store
You know what aisles I mean—the aisles you can’t help but grab something unhealthy from. Whether it’s ice cream or candy, skip that aisle. If you really do need something from that aisle—other than your kryptonite—proceed with caution. Make sure you look steadfastly at the opposite side of the aisle as you pass by, get what you need, and then hurry onto the next aisle before you cave and toss those deliciously deadly calories into your shopping cart.
Stop the Night Snacking
Snacking period can be bad, but night snacking is particularly bad for people trying to lose weight. You’re eating all those calories, and then they’re just going to sit in your body. All. Night. If you’re getting hungry, drink some water and go to bed.
Don’t feel like you need to incorporate all of these tricks into your lifestyle. Just choosing one or two and implementing them into your life will be enough to see the results. You’ll start losing weight, and all it took was a little tweaking to your diet and daily habits. If it sounds simple, it is. So what are you waiting for? Start losing weight!
